Atlas Genius - Trojans (November 12th 2012) Directed by Claire Marie Vogel

Purpose: The purpose of this music video is to entertain the audience with the singer trying to sell the song and the story behind it which is portrayed in the music video. The band knew what they wanted the storyline to be like when filming the music video to this song.
Form: It's a music promo with the singer being shown as a young boy who grows up and comes accross all these events in his life. Many different camera angles and shots are used in the filming, the music promo uses angles like wide angles which are used more than any angles which is used more than any other angle because a lot can be displayed within the frame. There are a lot of close up and extreme close ups like when an old photo is dropped into a bowl where it connotes meaning of a past life which has changed since then. There is also a low angle shot where as a young boy he is sat looking up at his mother which connotes that he idels her and cherishes her.

There are many visual effects used in this music video like when a tunnel appears from the singers head which connotes travelling in time which he goes back to an early stage in his life with the effect also allowing the previous scene to fade out and then fade into the next one. Although we can see the singer is a solo singer we can hear more than just one sound being played which are an electrical guitar and some drums where we see the singer playing both whilst singing throughout. The singer showing himself in it playing those instruments connotes that he's musically talanted and has spent many hours of his time in music which hes pationate about and he doesn't have to rely on band members and it is very helpful he can play multiple instruments for when he's writing music and playing it.

Meaning: The lighting in the music video is both black and white in some scenes but colourful and bright in others. The lighting is quite dark and usually black and white when the singer is actually singing and playing his instruments which could connote that he's singing from a dark place whereas the scenes from his past are shown in colpur and are bright which connote he's been happier in the past where hes with his loved ones like his mother and past girlfriend.

What is significant about the costume of the singer is that it's a suit which he has a black tie, black blazer and a white shirt which is worn when he's singing but changes into a shirt when playing other instruments like the drums but when he first comes out at the start of the music video the song is almost sad and with his costume it connotes death with maybe the death of his mother where he has flashbacks of her in the music video.

Jamie Lindell - Big Love (July 2nd 2012) Music Video, Directed by Michael Carter

There is a story to this music video and two sides to it with a boxer and a dancer which is showing them both working hard, for a competitions. The dancer shows to have fun instead of being serious like the boxer all the time. This music video is to entertain. I would like to pastiche putting a story with a meaning in my music video.

Battles - Atlas (Feb 28, 2007) Music Video, Directed by Timothy Saccenti

This music video doesn't show a story like the previous one but it shows the band playing and all the different instruments being played. It shows you how much work is required and that it's not as simple as just picking a guitar up or playing the drums it takes practise after practise. It is to entertain as well as they are in a glass box spinning around which gives you something other to look at instead of just the band playing and the instruments. I would like to pastiche showing instruments being played as they aren't just not important as the singer because its the instruments which make the music that is being played not just the lyrics.

This music video shows previous events that the band have played at which is for entertainment as you can see the fans that follow the band. The music video also shows the band playing instruments which is shown like the previous music video to show that they're as big of a part as the singer is.
